Buna Seara,
Today was all go from start to finish. The guys set off for Seleus to continue the building work after breakfast.
We continued sorting the shoes for the Easter shoes for the Easter clothing program. It turned into a massive game of pairs. This is one bag of shoes and we sorted roughly twenty!
Thankfully we managed to get them done and dusted. Clothes and shoes boxed up and ready to go. Next on the agenda...feeding program.
I never actually made the feeding program as Natalie and I brought the two children with burns inside to do their dressings. One little girl, a controversial burn which may have been a punishment has healed brilliantly and she no longer needs to be seen. Another little boy is also healing really well and only another week or so would be needed. The children were both sent home with horrific burns and one dressing, no follow up needed according to the doctors. It has been such a blessing and a privilege to be able to use nursing skills and see the children get better.
After finishing the wounds I came outside and saw this woman washing her clothes in the stream. A harsh reality of the life lived by many of those on the hill.
In the afternoon we went to Sapte Noiembrie to remove stitches from a guys foot. We also redressed a woman's leg who had a bone sticking out the back last week which has since been half removed.
Then it was a quick turnover when we went back to the house and fifteen minutes later were on route to Danes Baptist to hear Norman speak. We got chatting to a couple of sixteen year old girls at the beginning who were full of life and it was encouraging to see them at a Tuesday night service. The pastor asked if any of the three Northern Irish girls wanted to sing...Natalie and Nicola never moved from their seats which left me to step up. It was a really good service and many of the congregation shared or sang.
So it was a busy day with dinner at 8pm. Looking forward to tomorrow!
