And welcome back to the next set of blog updates! Or hello if you missed Africa's blogs last summer...you're in for Eastern Europe this time.
Another adventure lies ahead as we set off tomorrow for a trip to Romania. Currently sitting in Edinburgh amongst piles of clothes, toiletries and general stuff trying to pack. It is an activity I always put off until the last minute as I dread trying to gather everything together but have the underlying excitement of knowing that another journey awaits! I have the opportunity to visit missionaries in Sighisoara, Romania who founded Project Romania. I am heading out with Natalie and Nicola leaving Sunday 13th July until Friday 1st August. We will be getting involved in any way we can be useful and in particular a medical team assisting a medical team from USA for ten days.
Project Romania is involved with lots of different projects including:
- Building houses for homeless and needy families
- Children's camps which teach the word of God
- Looking after children's medical needs, hygiene and welfare
Surprising Fact: Romania has 21% of the population unreached (Operation World)
Team Members...
Natalie is a friend from church and a second year nursing student. She has previously been on several mission trips and is returning to Romania (different area) for a second time this trip. Also has self appointed herself as team leader...enough said.
Nicola is a friend from my course who has also just graduated as a nurse. She decided to join us and come along on the adventure about three weeks ago! So it's exciting to have a late addition to the small team.
And I'm Sarah. Just graduated as a student nurse from Edinburgh University. Very excited to be heading out to Sighisoara for three weeks on a mission trip. I am the real team leader...just don't tell Natalie.
Prayer Points
- that God would be glorified
- to encourage and support those serving long term
- to be challenged in our walk with the Lord
- to be willing servants for the three weeks
- for wisdom to make decisions of time management, words to say, activities to participate in
- safety for travelling through London to Romania
- for unity with those who are working with Project Romania
- for a good witness to Nicola over our time away
Next time From Romania, Sarah
